Swatches!I went to Walgreens a few weeks ago to get one of Revlon's Color Burst Lip Butters, but ended up getting three! There were so many colors to choose from, I couldn't just settle with one.<br />
<br />
Anyway, I've been using them for a couple of weeks and just love love love them. They provide the pigmentation of a lipstick, and the moisture of a lip balm.<br />

<span style="background-color: white;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: white;">I find myself using Cherry Tart the most for the nice pop of color in an everyday look. The color is buildable so you can make it lighter or darker depending on how many layers you apply. Berry smoothie is more pink and light, so I use it when I want to be low-key. Red velvet is a bit dramatic-I only use that when I want dark red lips. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: white;">Overall, this is a great buy. At under $10 USD per lipstick, the quality is awesome.</span></div>

Well, at least the weather in San Francisco is starting to reflect spring a bit more. Lately, I've been interested in more spring-like nail colors.<br />
<br />
This one is Essie's Turquoise & Caicos. I've mostly been using OPI and wanted to try Essie. I got it at Target, though I was surprised to find that they carry it at Walgreen's. Yay!<br />
<br />
I tried out a bow nail design for this nice turquoise color. The lines could've been a lot thinner but eh. I used Kiss Nail Artist Nail Lacquers. They come in skinny brushes so you get more control.<br />

<br />
I spent way too much money today at Sephora's V.I.B Sale Event. I was looking for a foundation and a lovely makeup artist named Drew helped me pick out the perfect shade!<br />
<br />
Here's Givenchy Photo'Perfexion in 5 Perfect Praline. At first glance it looked really really light! But I'm really glad I received some expert advice. In most cases, you want to match your foundation to the color of your neck for the obvious reason of it blending in and looking natural.<br />
<br />
Here's me really tired and ready to go to bed, but my foundation still looks decent. Of course you can't really tell the fine detail with my crappy macbook camera, but trust me it still looks like I have nothing on.<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So in the past 1.5 years or so, I've been relying on <b>Almay's Clear Complexion Concealer</b> (in Medium) to cover annoying blemishes on my face from little pimples to old scars. I usually don't need that much coverage, but I wanted something that would last the whole day as I dislike reapplying makeup. I found that Almay's Concealer did an awesome job, I even went through about 4 of them in those past 1.5 years.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
HOWEVER, I've noticed that my face type evolved from combination/oily to more... dry. Especially when I migrated from nice and sunny Southern California, to cold and windy Northern California. I had to find a better concealer that wouldn't leave my face looking dry after a couple hours. Almay's Clear Complexion Concealer was still great, but the 1% salicylic acid was unnecessary for me now.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh871YIedAjkVUyNQgNrpxn3cZJhU_CSteOVnEwGNsn_DCegrkfJ1XuyhGVJaDlVnAY_EybzLoSkHtblTjRfBMifug7vlClSYp1SUoa3uOuvYFh4DI2-DW4oxQs5aRTl3rHdeatKtxriS8J/s1600/almay.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh871YIedAjkVUyNQgNrpxn3cZJhU_CSteOVnEwGNsn_DCegrkfJ1XuyhGVJaDlVnAY_EybzLoSkHtblTjRfBMifug7vlClSYp1SUoa3uOuvYFh4DI2-DW4oxQs5aRTl3rHdeatKtxriS8J/s320/almay.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Almay Clear Complexion Concealer</b> - About $8 at drugstores (I bought mine at Walgreens)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After reading many reviews of many different concealers on Makeupalley.com, I decided to give the <b>Make Up For Ever Full Cover Waterproof Concealer</b> a try. It's been about a week and it's been awesome! I admit I was a little bit confused on which shade to select (I ended up getting Beige in 8).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Initially I looked at all the shades online and thought I would be Golden Beige as my skin is has more yellow tones than pink. I went to Sephora and after testing Sand 7, Beige 8, and Golden Beige 10, it seemed 8 was the best. It's comparable in color to Almay's Concealer in Medium. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<b>Make Up For Ever Full Cover Waterproof Concealer</b> - <a href="http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P151107" target="_blank">$30 at Sephora</a></div>
<br />
Even though Make Up For Ever's was more than 3 times the price of Almay's, I think it's definitely worth it. You only need a teeny tiny amount for Make Up For Ever's Concealer. The packaging is also more sanitary than the sponge wand from Almay's Concealer. I'll post some swatches in a later post, I'm in the process of getting a new camera so more swatchy pics and hopefully posts to come!Jennnnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05083212779245923489noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8006550548385625899.post-91343794953160939442011-11-09T22:20:00.000-08:002011-11-09T22:53:38.991-08:00My Nightly RegimeHi Beau-teas! It's been a long time since I've blogged. I've been debating a lot whether to start up blogging again. Most of the dilemma has been whether I would be consistent in blogging. Once I start blogging, I want to keep updating regularly.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
There have been many many new products I've been trying since my last post. And I'm very excited to share them with you all! In future posts, I'm hoping to share some of the products I've tried that work super well, and also those that have been duds.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Stay tuned!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
In the meantime, I wanted to share my nightly routine. My skin used to be more acne prone and oily, but now it's evolved to a more dry state. I don't really get acne anymore, but I do have a little bit of spots and scars I cover with a concealer.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Here are the products I've been using every night (for the past 3 months or so):</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3hlWhX-qRXy4FD365QyDGgP7UdNQ-8ahAwcbEk9VsEk3ZrBbEVN20Rp5lIOf-1LRgZrmH3z9bghXjLlYIzVAXrfMC0x1HFndzmrm0vI7qpP-yjGgDNW1M8fXoab7qh6raedIOksQXXCij/s1600/58685.jpeg"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5673250883770584242" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3hlWhX-qRXy4FD365QyDGgP7UdNQ-8ahAwcbEk9VsEk3ZrBbEVN20Rp5lIOf-1LRgZrmH3z9bghXjLlYIzVAXrfMC0x1HFndzmrm0vI7qpP-yjGgDNW1M8fXoab7qh6raedIOksQXXCij/s400/58685.jpeg" style="cursor: hand; cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 311px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 311px;" /></a><b>Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum</b></div>
<div>
This stuff is awesome. It's a light liquidy gel that absorbs quickly in the skin that you put on before your moisturizer. It repairs your skin from the daily wear and tear (that you probably can't see) while you're sleeping. Honestly, I'm not 100% sure that this really does anything. HOWEVER, it doesn't do any harm to my sensitive skin so I'm sure it's doing something right :).<br />
<br />
<br />

<div>
I know I know.. you might be wondering, 'Isn't Estee Lauder for old ladies with wrinkles?' This was my first impression of the brand. But they've started a line for ladies who want to PREVENT wrinkles. Plus, you don't want to wait until you get wrinkles and lines before taking action! This moisturizer is so nice and full of 'body'. It absorbs quickly and leaves my skin soft and moisturized. AND it has SPF 15. It's a pricey moisturizer at <a href="http://www.esteelauder.com/product/1172/13158/Product-Catalog/Skincare/Regimens/Protect-Prevent-First-Signs-of-Aging/Moisturize/DayWear/Advanced-Multi-Protection-Anti-Oxidant-Creme-SPF15/index.tmpl">$43 for 1.7 ounces</a>, but definitely worth it. I will be buying it again for sure.<br />

<div>
Ok, I got this at Costco for my mom and she didn't really want the eye cream. So I started using it even though I don't have undereye circles yet. It has a nice texture and I lightly pat it on my undereyes and potential crows feet area. Can't tell you if it's working yet, I'll let you know in 5-10 years ;)<br />

It's been a while, just wanted to share stuff!</div><div><br /></div><div>Got all this stuff from Walgreens, Ross, Sephora, and Bath and Body Works.</div><div><br /></div><div>Mini Reviews:</div><div><br /></div><b>Bio Oil </b>- Used this a few times. I was kind of scared because it's OIL which usually means clogged pores. But it was fine! and I have combination skin. Haven't used it for a while though, but will continue to. For now, I'm letting my skin breathe, which seems to be working well.<div><br /></div><div><b>EOS lip balm </b>- I love this little giant ball of lip balm!! I got the honeysuckle one and still haven't lost it. (I tend to misplace lippies a lot and then find them later after buying another one.) The thing I like about this product is that it's cute and durable. Plus, it's so easy to find in my purse. I think that's the number one thing with regular chapsticks. I always have a hard time digging through trying to find them.</div><div><br /></div><div>I also bought the Mint EOS lip balm. Same everything, though I like minty lip balms better. Overall, great product. I believe it was $5 at Walgreens.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Almay Color Complexion Concealer</b> - I only bought this because it was a BOGO event at Walgreens. I really only used this once and didn't really like it. It's kind of drying, kind of hard to build and blend. Will try using it again someday..</div><div><br /><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNEMjnRHzZYMiM1FyJNr_nOWlae1tCgZPLvY9XHnY4r6WURdDeLKby0l0FWnAyrenixiP2ytAP1wM9Na5CYvxVoam2glhRcgfQJ0GxUy2DcqmblitqEeDfKsvLN8DY3MbO5x4oaTtl28X-/s1600/2010-08-28+17.27.56.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNEMjnRHzZYMiM1FyJNr_nOWlae1tCgZPLvY9XHnY4r6WURdDeLKby0l0FWnAyrenixiP2ytAP1wM9Na5CYvxVoam2glhRcgfQJ0GxUy2DcqmblitqEeDfKsvLN8DY3MbO5x4oaTtl28X-/s400/2010-08-28+17.27.56.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530741047419875442" /></a><br /></div><div><b>Sephora Pink cleansing pad</b> - Got this at Sephora for about $5 I think. I use it with my face wash when I'm in the shower and it makes me feel more sanitized then using my hands to scrub. So far, love it!</div><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAY5r997YzPxgIwqFA3dq1fyMjizTUWRANk83euALMpdTTxHb4Frtpk3M5IbIlVS4s5KNk_7Uk-zvHUFQCandctiPGop6AqzVN-Z3TIrAcvG_UmDjiP7RVbMZJfZfvfMYGpQDfwSupOL5c/s1600/2010-08-22+19.07.17.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAY5r997YzPxgIwqFA3dq1fyMjizTUWRANk83euALMpdTTxHb4Frtpk3M5IbIlVS4s5KNk_7Uk-zvHUFQCandctiPGop6AqzVN-Z3TIrAcvG_UmDjiP7RVbMZJfZfvfMYGpQDfwSupOL5c/s400/2010-08-22+19.07.17.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530741037684614882" /></a><br /></div><div><b>Bath and Body Works </b>- Warm vanilla sugar, Wild Honey Suckle, Rain-kissed leaves, Mint Nectarine. You know, it's lotion. Listed in the order of my favorites.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>ELF get the look set</b> - Comes with brown kohl eyeliner, mascara, eyelash curler, and eyeshadow. Was about $4 or less at Ross. I really only got this for the eyelash curler because I broke a previous one. I knew the eyelash curler was awesome, especially for the affordable price. I haven't really used the eye shadow or mascara from this set. I sampled the eye shadow though, and the color is kind of light, but not very pigmented. I like the brown eyeliner though, it's nice and easy to glide on. Though it doesn't really stay on that long.</div><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_rbueKFmDrE2ZMT0owIgmsDYi9HRt0v3IRQGVfLxcO44Rd0FwiP7W1yFlQivRkY5EhJt7Z2OxGPHuX_eFW3F1uxFhsNsH422rMH9WpWXFEsgoqGaKvxlE6sJRjXtwCBkRlKAX_XYGKHtL/s1600/2010-08-22+17.00.44.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_rbueKFmDrE2ZMT0owIgmsDYi9HRt0v3IRQGVfLxcO44Rd0FwiP7W1yFlQivRkY5EhJt7Z2OxGPHuX_eFW3F1uxFhsNsH422rMH9WpWXFEsgoqGaKvxlE6sJRjXtwCBkRlKAX_XYGKHtL/s400/2010-08-22+17.00.44.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530741033183977314" /></a><br /></div></div><div>What's your favorite product right now?</div>Jennnnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05083212779245923489noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8006550548385625899.post-66991588858991173532010-08-15T00:40:00.000-07:002010-08-15T00:44:11.223-07:00Smudge-proof liner for tightlining?It's been a long while, I keep procrastinating the post of The Body Shop products I bought like two months ago.. and I'm going to procrastinate some more. <div><br /></div><div>I'm looking for a smudge-proof liner for tightlining. Lately I've been using an eyeliner from covergirl (forgot the name but it's a twisty one) and it smudges quite a bit after a while. Any suggestions? I'd prefer one that doesn't need sharpening. Drugstore + brand name ones?</div>Jennnnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05083212779245923489noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8006550548385625899.post-232022039086615922010-05-29T22:14:00.000-07:002010-05-29T22:38:19.271-07:00Unsatisfied facial routine<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI_TXFcVbTY-eAED5hXZUCtuXcAYuqN1LuhopHXUImMUj6zj75X7H3zklk8JAiLMKIJbtBumI9_yPX9qfSfxtx9iXdKNFRrGRWLakWaiLBW-7q2hZNpq66jVi5liyrUyqVuxihR4zgUIw-/s1600/neutrogena.jpeg"></a>Hey girls, it's been several months since I last blogged. So I'm less busy now, mostly because I'm working 9-5 and have weekends free for once!<div><br /></div><div>Some life update: I've moved from Pittsburgh to Mountain View, CA for the end of my capstone project for my masters degree. It's glad to be back in California!</div><div><br /></div><div>I just came back from shopppping, I haven't been to a mall in almost half a year! So I kinda bought whatever I felt like :/. I will blog about the stuff I bought later.. after shopping I realized I really miss blogging and sharing my experiences from the products I use, so I decided to start up again. Most of the stuff I bought were skin care things, so stay tuned! </div><div><br /></div><div>Anyway, I was continuously breaking out when I was in Pittsburgh. At first I thought it was the whether, but in the end I realize it was a combination of poor diet, dehydration, and lack of sleep. Being so busy made me neglect myself in that way and I really should've prepared for it. I also realized that dairy makes me break out and now I'm trying to cut dairy out of my diet. I knew I was lactose intolerant but didn't know that it also affected my skin.</div><div><br /></div><div>Anyway, coming back to California, I have more time to be aware of my body, therefore I want to take care of my skin more.</div><div><br /></div><div>After the move back here, I had to throw a lot of products away due to lack of space.. travelling some thousands of miles wasn't really fun. When I arrived to California, I wanted to use up some of the stuff I bought but didn't really use:</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash: redness soothing</b></div><div>I bought this because I have red blemishes from spots that were healing and wanted to subdue it. I used it for a week and didn't really like it because it didn't really 'foam' as a cleanser. It was like a lotion consistency. I tried using it again after running out of a different cleanser, but I still don't like it enough that I had to buy a new different cleanser. </div><div><br /></div><div><b>Pros</b></div><div>nice tingly feeling after use</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Cons</b></div><div>doesn't really do anything for the redness</div><div>leaves a residue feeling on the face</div><div>doesn't feel like it 'cleans'</div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI_TXFcVbTY-eAED5hXZUCtuXcAYuqN1LuhopHXUImMUj6zj75X7H3zklk8JAiLMKIJbtBumI9_yPX9qfSfxtx9iXdKNFRrGRWLakWaiLBW-7q2hZNpq66jVi5liyrUyqVuxihR4zgUIw-/s400/neutrogena.jpeg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5476929888015844642" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 300px; " /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#0000EE;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><br /></span></div>Jennnnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05083212779245923489noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8006550548385625899.post-49737663778537445832010-02-16T23:24:00.000-08:002010-02-16T23:25:48.587-08:00Update update!Hi therrrre. So stay posted! (Might be a while though :P) Hope ya'll are doing well. How is life?Jennnnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05083212779245923489noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8006550548385625899.post-55485349625547743942009-12-24T19:28:00.001-08:002009-12-24T19:49:49.075-08:00Happy Winter!<div style="text-align: left;">It's been a while since I've been here. I'm back on the west coast for winter break! I escaped right before it started snowing consistently.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 600px; height: 450px;" src="http://s3.amazonaws.com/twitpic/photos/large/52045628.jpg?AWSAccessKeyId=0ZRYP5X5F6FSMBCCSE82&Expires=1261712822&Signature=uN%2Bb9%2BgvbEzSO6HA97CmGtcub7g%3D" border="0" alt="" /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div></div><div style="text-align: center;">Oh beach, how I've missed thee.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">On a product related note, I started breaking out a lot in the east probably due to the dry weather and stress. So I bought these and they helped.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Scrub</div><div style="text-align: center;">It's a gentle scrub with little beads and leaves my skin feeling refreshed.</div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 300px;" src="http://www.naturalacneremedy.com/acne-blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/neutrogena-acne-stress-control-power-clear-scrub.jpg" border="0" alt="" /><div style="text-align: center;">Clinique Acne Solutions: Spot Healing Gel</div><div style="text-align: center;">This thing works. Unfortunately grad school is very very very demanding and I usually spend my free time relaxing and doing laundry. :P</div><div><br /></div><div>I just wanted to put this site on hiatus, probably until winter break. </div><div><br /></div><div>I'll be back.</div><div><br /></div><div>Have a nice autumn everyone! The leaves are changing and falling. Not that I miss home home, but I think I miss my college home where I lived with my roommates and was surrounded by people I love. I'm really glad I'm not living by myself because I now realize that I'm a pretty social person. Since my roommate went home for 4 days or so, I don't have anyone to talk to in RL. My cohorts did plan a night meet-up, but they're doing things I'm not really fond of.. like dancing in a club and what not. I'm not really into that type of stuff, (unless it's in another country, then it's a different story :P).</p><p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica"><br /></p><p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica"></p><p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica">But yeah... Pittsburgh weather sucks. It's so hot and humid. Being from California, I anticipated cold weather, even in the summer because the forecast said thunderstorms... I guess I ignored the temperature because the weather here reminds me of China. It's hot and humid, but gloomy and bright. And rain is random.</p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica; min-height: 14.0px"><br /></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica">Yep. I decided to get the stick because I noticed that in Sonia Kashuk's hidden agenda concealer, I only really use the olive color on the bottom left (I know, I know, the stock image sucks and blocks it), and the concealer stick in Neutralizer is exactly that color. And as for the acne wash, I feel like I'm breaking out more here.. must be the humidity or air or something.</p><p></p><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:Helvetica, serif;font-size:100%;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-size:12px;"><br /></span></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiURVH8xZGBdGD43LeQuGkIo_ZH81BV8IYoCFImhQLdtEG-GmYyICuzOlE6_FjuYt8fHvPcPjMKIZgPFNh-EtcNfLBtl9kdTVGS-FLtpddZWe9oVFoiRsk4_R9Buz4g4lsaUN37RcqubOzD/s1600-h/AAAAAkdb_d0AAAAAATBgDg.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 260px; height: 260px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiURVH8xZGBdGD43LeQuGkIo_ZH81BV8IYoCFImhQLdtEG-GmYyICuzOlE6_FjuYt8fHvPcPjMKIZgPFNh-EtcNfLBtl9kdTVGS-FLtpddZWe9oVFoiRsk4_R9Buz4g4lsaUN37RcqubOzD/s400/AAAAAkdb_d0AAAAAATBgDg.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5370359495191190242" /></a>Jennnnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05083212779245923489noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8006550548385625899.post-70508942641799819362009-08-11T21:16:00.000-07:002009-08-11T21:21:05.031-07:00Quick update from the east coast!Hi everyone! It's been really crazy moving from Los Angeles to Pittsburgh this past week. I still haven't settled into my apartment fully yet, and I still have to figure out some stuff for grad school. Also orientation is going to be all of next week and school starts immediately the week after! X_X<div><br /></div><div>I really hope I have time to blog again soon and to read all your posts and get back to everyone's wonderful comments.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span> Sorry I haven't been good about that, if you were wondering why it seems like I'm MIA, now you know why.<div><br /></div><div>p.s. I hung out with some friends today, just loitering around and I saw this Physician's Formula Duo Eye Shadow in Natural Minerals for $3 at Big Lots. It's kind of sad because I don't really use them that much. I think I use Herades and Frosted Beige most when I first bought them, I like lipgloss more. Oh! I also have Doll, but I forgot to include it here.. so I'll probably include it in a later post. They're all really nice and pigmented, (maybe a little TOO pigmented if that makes any sense.) However, I don't really like the color of Sun Flower.. it looks too orangey on me so I end up looking like an Oompa Loompa.</div><div><br /></div><div> (click for larger images!)</div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6UxtUMWRJrndvtYlL6gXtYxLpaBYZzEp4fC_gb-yGvZ-gDErGuTPtlH9y1a8MdN1SL6vq-hIEqco1973qlWXThwBdoHHw-upRFvigTryX5s-d_ZyOqk9eO1qBE1vBPa9qtWrNVcq9rXsO/s1600-h/IMG_2861.JPG"><img style="display:block; <b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Comfort: </span></b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">So far, this I would rank the comfort level as almost the same as Honey Wing, but more comfortable than Geo Tri color Brown. This is because I hardly get vision blockage from the colors (as it happens in the Geo Tri Color) since the transparency for the pupil (the part where you see out of) is pretty big.</span></div>

<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Enlargement:</span></b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"> It still enlarges your iris, and it's a good size. Not too big and scary. And not too noticeable.</span></div>

<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Color: </span></b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">When I wear this lens, people hardly notice any difference. Unless they really look into your eyes in super bright lights shined directly at your face. I'm kind of disappointed with the color, because it hardly makes a difference in indoor lighting, but it looks a bit lighter in outdoor lighting. </span></div>

<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Comfort: </span></b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">This lens has a small transparent area for the pupil. Indoors, a person's pupil is a lot larger than when outside in the sunlight because it controls how much light is let into the retina. Because of the small space available for vision through the lens, I often experience vision blockage because the color of the contacts block part of the pupil, causing me to see a blur of color on the side of my vision. This is kind of annoying, but outdoors I experience this less.</span></div>

Anyway this is a pretty lengthy post about circle lenses. Don't read it if you don't care about circle lenses :) I will be posting reviews of each lens I've tried later!</div><div><br /></div><div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 221px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoy_iPwrSM7rXOsvGeZj6u41FlFETjRhHX2s_AdxDagdsuPtqNQEEMN5maqtPI4Tjh-2nu8Shjp1QzWUkBCYpEu-fSwVPnprxyxc5yR5g8JBmcniZrLof-grUeXGdDDgy0G9XXZJCX1hhz/s400/IMG_2596.JPG" border="0" alt="" /></div><div><p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica"><b>My background:</b> I have HORRIBLE eyesight. I wore glasses since I was 8 years old until about 14. My eyesight got worst every year in the interval. Around 14, I started wearing regular contact lenses, and that's also when my eyesight started stabilizing. So I guess I've worn regular contact lenses for about 7 years.</p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica; min-height: 14.0px"><br /></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica"><b>Why I decided to buy circle lenses: </b> Honestly, I had no idea what circle lenses were until I did a little more research online. I've always wanted to try color contact lenses, but they were too expensive for me. I was a bit wary about buying contact lenses online from two girls, but I've found from experience and other reviews that the girls at Mesmerized eyes are very reliable and the lenses are authentic. I bought the lenses mostly for the colors, but I guess the added enlargement is a plus too.</p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica; min-height: 14.0px"><br /></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica"><b>Regular contacts vs. Circle Lenses vs. colored contacts: </b> Circle lenses make your iris bigger, therefore making the person appear more "doll-like" because the eyes look bigger. Regular contacts are just clear. Colored contacts are similar to circle lenses in that it might have different colors to enhance the eyes, with the exception of the outer dark ring to make the eyes look bigger.</p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica; min-height: 14.0px"><br /></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica"><b>Buying circle lenses: </b>I honestly do not recommend buying circle lenses if you have not seen the optometrist and had a proper eye exam for contact lenses. I bought the lenses because I knew my prescription for contacts (which is completely different from the prescription for a pair of glasses because the contact lens includes the base curve and diameter of the lens). Even so, I am still in some danger because each contact brand is different, thus might require a different prescription. However, I limit the time I wear circle lenses and hopefully that limits the risk I am taking.</p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica; min-height: 14.0px"><br /></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica">Not to sound all parental and authoritative, but I think the health of your eyes is more important than the beauty of it. It is VERY easy to develop eye infections of the contact is handled or clean improperly, and improper lenses can also damage the eye.</p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica; min-height: 14.0px"><br /></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica"><b>Geo Lens general comfort:</b> This comparison is generalized to all the Geo Lenses I've tried, and compared to my regular contact lens which, to me, is a 10/10. I think this is just me, but I can't wear Geo Lenses for an extended amount of time (in 5 hours it gets uncomfortable, 8 hours is max but by then my eyes are starving for oxygen). I suspect this is probably due to the percentage of water in comparison to my regular lenses. Geo Lenses are 38% water versus my regular lenses are 60% water. More water = more permeable = more oxygen flow. The geo lenses are also thicker, probably because they have an extra layer for color. However, I searched all over for reviews before purchasing and it seems that most people find them even more comfortable then their current lenses, and those who never wore contact lenses before also found them extremely comfortable. But overall, I wouldn't wear geo lenses all day because they are uncomfortable for me. Remember, everyone is different so it might be different for you.</p><div><br /></div></div>Jennnnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05083212779245923489noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8006550548385625899.post-30146967634100082502009-07-06T00:54:00.000-07:002010-08-03T16:25:03.441-07:00Honest Crap<div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:Helvetica, fantasy;font-size:12px;">Thought this would be fun, thanks <a href="http://ketmany.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"> Ketmany</a> for sharing :)</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:Helvetica, -webkit-fantasy;font-size:100%;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:12px;"><br /></span></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:Helvetica, -webkit-fantasy;font-size:100%;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:12px;">"<span class="Apple-style-span" style=" line-height: 20px; font-family:Arial, fantasy;font-size:13px;">You have to tell your readers ten things about you they may not know, but that are true. I went to northern California to UC Merced because my brother had orientation there. It was different because there wasn't much to do as it's literally in the middle of nowhere. Coming from Los Angeles, it was pretty interesting to see other parts of California, but I feel kind of sorry for my brother :P since I think he's more of a city person.<div><br /></div><div>I was selected to be a potential juror last week. It was also an interesting process, and I was literally this __ close to be a juror. Boy did I get lucky because I was actually called for interrogations, but in the end they didn't want me :) Yay! I guess it was kind of different then my normal routine of waking up and doing nothing for the whole day. I would wake up extremely early (6 am) and go to Starbucks to read. Jury duty didn't start until 8 am, but I had no choice because my mom offered to drop me off before she went to work. Afterwards, I would go shopping because it was right next to a mall in Pasadena. </div><div><br /></div><div>Me being silly with Biore pore strips some days before graduation... and yes, I'm wearing fobby PJs, haha.</div><div><br /></div><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiz74p4MJVBI0ANtfvXAZ7BnLHPdFHnKkfwR-uTyAE3BMPnoTr9JziGIKCmnkELFsWedDcsU2wfjeEFKaGr9Xz4Zos8ElosC6spYosYdSqDlnhp7-TFbP5AWqJ28fCxvEAKGtzPDiyRNzlm/s400/Photo+213.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355161949192646738" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px; " /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOAsHjY1FhlNLQbwFIwpar28C_1ipKu7i_M2zjPn3Ojf0DEl2OpjTOIhCjvgm2LqoviXMrXarC_Q4iMTk_Ey5EklAtV2-zUNZYDBVhsPPhKKkVZbUL5x78tS-Bi4vp5bOyUykZrfhq0y1D/s1600-h/Photo+214.jpg"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOAsHjY1FhlNLQbwFIwpar28C_1ipKu7i_M2zjPn3Ojf0DEl2OpjTOIhCjvgm2LqoviXMrXarC_Q4iMTk_Ey5EklAtV2-zUNZYDBVhsPPhKKkVZbUL5x78tS-Bi4vp5bOyUykZrfhq0y1D/s400/Photo+214.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355161954124465122" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px; " /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><br /></span></div></div>Jennnnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05083212779245923489noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8006550548385625899.post-48693343754216811462009-07-03T18:54:00.000-07:002009-07-03T20:59:46.664-07:00Another haul: Eyeko<div>Okay, I swear this will be the last "haul" for a while. Since I will be going to grad school (with no funding) and I already have loans from undergrad.. I'm going to have to cut back a lot. It sucks because I was so used to paying for my personal expenses in undergrad since I had a job. Now that I will be unemployed (apparently working and being in the grad school program I'm in will be a big no-no because of how intense it would be), my sources for finances will be mainly loans and extra help from the parental units.</div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-NnEev1U-sxkWcGw47PjoD87ABZbHTn8i36Waebyshmacre12TeQujSKjTDLyUVxoYReD5LOokJUgU7esNv_GnpGMV1tlPs7TJssCgHeEhtsABGzP4SWKQrWp784wMRnex23U50gQ54So/s1600-h/IMG_2428.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-NnEev1U-sxkWcGw47PjoD87ABZbHTn8i36Waebyshmacre12TeQujSKjTDLyUVxoYReD5LOokJUgU7esNv_GnpGMV1tlPs7TJssCgHeEhtsABGzP4SWKQrWp784wMRnex23U50gQ54So/s400/IMG_2428.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5354446560541266738" /></a>I bought both Eyeko Eye creams: Tinted and original. I use the original one and mix it with my moisturizer (Clinique dramatically different moisturizer). It gives the skin a nice healthy glow. I haven't used the tinted one too much, but I'm starting to now... I use it near the temples of my cheeks to kind of even out my face. (My forehead is naturally darker than the rest of my face *sadface) But so far I love the regular one! Although the texture gets kind of weird and filmy when I apply it after my sunblock (Neutrogena Dry touch). <br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div></div>Jennnnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05083212779245923489noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8006550548385625899.post-10232731962163193612009-07-01T21:51:00.000-07:002009-07-02T12:06:52.122-07:00Geo Circle Lenses Haul and Cookie Monster Cupcakes<div>Recently I received my Geo Lens Haul from <a href="http://mesmerizedeyes.blogspot.com/">Mesmerized Eyes</a> (<a href="http://mesmerizedeyes.blogspot.com/">http://mesmerizedeyes.blogspot.com/</a>)! I was new to the batch system worked but it's pretty easy to figure out. You just order, pay and wait for the batch to fill up to 100 orders. Then the girls at <a href="http://mesmerizedeyes.blogspot.com/">Mesmerized Eyes</a> order straight from the Geo Lens company in Korea. Geo Lens ship all the lenses to them and when they receive it, they package it up and ship it out to everyone who ordered. Shipping from the girls was sooo fast, it was about 2 days after they shipped that I received my package. However, the process in waiting for the batch to fill up and getting the order from Korea took some patience :).</div><div><br /></div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEq8EqQMExzOdgEvGTkHUnq62RBbxMB4Tcj1xI0hLgoJq6Rpd9Ew-vnwOLPDsSkKmRDb9C5NSuYj9cF-YgTbG1zLlXYaGLf0YHZjd5TKKL9lD-qwelB5N3-8Qg1SJygSuMsOktaOWg0PTm/s400/IMG_2590.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5353721184210003858" />Yay the package!!<br /><div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRkATtVcibZAFIaP_CtLn6uAQCsORddpVlntPa8-PStTGXSDT4EreW-Vv4M87xVDsjxqMyMMVR_qdJUZkClAcsmaSbOqbN_YKSQe6b2po0v4NYNj7_xQ630YAwSPdpezq1HPLY-6rSw-DV/s400/IMG_2592.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5353721187618406690" />All neatly bubble wrapped. This is not an original idea, I saw this somewhere online. But basically the eyes are marshmallow halves and chocolate chips. Frosting was semi-homemade with cream cheese, whipped topping and food coloring. The cupcakes were made from store box cake mix I had left over, but the chocolate chip cookies were made from scratch. They came out a bit too sweet for my taste (I blame the cake mix) but they sure looked cute!</div>Jennnnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05083212779245923489noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8006550548385625899.post-89462172908992776332009-06-29T21:39:00.000-07:002009-06-29T21:46:35.018-07:00More postponementHola everybody (who still reads this blog anyway :D). So I have received my Geo Lenses and Eyeko stuff!! Unfortunately, I got called to serve as a potential juror (I find out tomorrow if I'm in the case or not.. I think)!! It sucks because I have to miss an online conference with the grad school counselor tomorrow :(, have to wake up way early, and of course not have time to upload photos and devote time for a quality blog!! Sadnessss. I don't really mind serving as a juror because the case is only about a week and I get moneys for showing up since I'm not employed right now (not that much though, $15 for 8 hours..), but its such a hassle.Jennnnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05083212779245923489noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8006550548385625899.post-52899125628153735502009-05-30T21:56:00.000-07:002009-05-30T22:05:55.829-07:00Studying studying studying<div style="text-align: left;">Hi beautiesss, just wanted to do a quick update.</div><div><br /></div><div>Sadly, I'll be on a hiatus until my last final/graduation (Mid-June).
